We have an exciting career opportunity for an experienced sales manager to build new and existing business with key accounts. As Area Sales Manager (m/f), you will have a background in field sales and be adept at managing your own time, meeting customers face to face and be a confident seller. You will ideally come from a tools or electrical background and have a good knowledge and understanding of this sector.

Area Sales Manager (m/f) Eastern Europe

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work towards attainable monthly and annual sales targets to increase sales revenue and provide organic growth.
  • Area Sales Management: Distribution Channel for Power Tools in Eastern Europe, but not limited to:
    • Aggressively promote our product range in the assigned area, with special focus on Russia, Poland, Hungary, and others
    • Manage existing distributor base through evaluation, ranking and benchmarking tools
    • Identify and develop new distributors, negotiate and close contracts with them
    • Monitor contract fulfillment, initiate corrective actions, where necessary, and execute them
    • Promote the integration of the distributors into the company´s sales efforts
    • Focus the distributor network on vertical markets, matching markets and differentiated product offering
    • Elaborate on proposals to improve the distribution strategy, execute the strategy, develop and perform actions plans to achieve company´s sales objectives
    • Propose and perform area-specific sales and promotion activities
    • Perform initial product training for new distributors and refresher trainings for existing distributors
    • Find synergies with and contribute to the development of the Hand Tools distribution channels
  • Key Account Management, but not limited to:
    • Manage key accounts in the area (e.g. KUKA, SMR and others)
    • Identify, develop and manage new key accounts in the General Industry to achieve company´s sales targets
    • Present Apex tools and solutions to customers and prospects
    • Manage the customer base in order to have the appropriate mix between existing customers, new customers and prospect customers
    • Be fully responsible for quotations, negotiations and order intake
    • Offer our solution portfolio to prospect customers
    • Active market research, stay informed about competition and trends

Critical Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or master’s degree in management
  • 8+ years of sales experience within the industry and experience in selling similar products (hand tools / power tools / electronics)
  • Experience with managing international distributor networks specifically in Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania and Hungary
  • Experience in Market Management, specifically Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania and Hungary
  • Proven sales track record as Key Account Manager and Distribution Channel Manager
  • Language skills: one Eastern European language such as Polish, Czech or Hungarian, mandatorily English and Russian; additional Eastern European language or German would be a plus
  • Up to 80% local and international travel will be required

  • You have good experience in and feel comfortable with building relationships throughout organizations
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Self-starter and highly motivated to take up challenging tasks
  • Superior level of intellectual, professional, and interpersonal agility
