Associate Payroll Analyst

Job Description

The Payroll Analyst position will be a key contributor in processing a weekly and biweekly payroll accurately and timely, beginning to end, for a large hourly population in multiple timekeeping databases.  A successful candidate will handle employee and client communications professionally, accurately and timely including questions related to payroll, reporting and other issues.

Job Responsibilities

  • Process payroll including calculating timesheets, processing in Workday and in an electronic timekeeping system, calculating garnishments, handling termination from the payroll perspective, and complying with all tax laws, payroll policies and internal controls
  • Maintain current timekeeping database with careful attention to detail
  • Provide accurate timekeeping reports as requested both internally and externally
  • Send weekly file transfers from payroll to billing/finance
  • Respond to Human Resources and Benefits questions in a timely and professional manner
  • Ensure payroll, deduction, tax and other issues are resolved in an appropriate and timely manner
  • Other projects as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

  • 3+ years’ experience with automated payroll systems, Workday preferred
  • 3+  years’ experience in payroll administration
  • Solid understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws
  • Proficiency in Excel is required
  • Attention to detail
  • Time management skills
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to maintain confidential information
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and other MS Office products required
