Role overview:

Senior Global Product Line Manager drives initiatives for Johnson & Johnson´s Consumer R&D organization CoBIC – the technology part.  The key focus is on developing and applying a product vision, prioritizing enhancements, understanding business outcomes, and delivering strategic and innovative solutions to the business. This is a position with global focus and will be based in Warsaw with up to 15% domestic and international travel.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse team of professionals that includes technically oriented Product Line Analysts and Solution Architects, ensuring their development is fostered and opportunities for growth pursued.  Ensure the team remains focused with clear goals and objectives grounded on measurable outcome driven metrics. 
  • Liaison with Business Technology Leaders to ensure product vision, roadmap, and enhancements are aligned to business strategy
  • Provide strategic thought leadership on technology roadmap within the Product Line.
  • Strategy
    • Sets a clear vision for the product and is responsible for multi-generational product strategy
    • Maximizes ROI (return on investment) by working with business analysts and product owners to help identify and prioritize product features by business value/outcomes
  • Business Requirements Management
    • Understand development estimates and how level of effort may impact priority of requirements
    • Aid in the review and approval of acceptance criteria by business analysts in your reporting structure
    • Support business analyst’s negotiation with business product owners to see what items (story points) are built and which are backlogged based on capacity
    • Accountable for development work getting done correctly
    • Overall Accountability for Application Lifecycle Management within their specific product responsibility
  • Program Oversight/Management
    • Tracks progress of product development in the context of the larger program/platform
    • Reports back to the business on status of delivery of features/functions, and applications
    • Partner closely with Technical Services organization to track and improve performance within the product
  • Maintain solid business understanding of entire application landscape within their product’s scope, acting as the DRI for business and technical aspects of the application
  • Track and understand costs related to a given application
  • Partner with business owner to ensure SLA’s (service-level agreements) are met
  • Overall accountability for executing against application lifecycle management plans for each application within scope
  • Review and approve changes to applications
  • CMDB Management of respective applications according to SACM standards
  • Consistently demonstrate knowledge seeking and sharing behaviors across IT organizational boundaries in the performance of daily work and encourage junior associates to do the same
    • Apply principles, concepts, and practices of the J&J Leadership Imperatives
    • Ensure that J&J information assets are appropriately identified and valued and are protected by complying with and enforcing all local and worldwide security policies
    • Ensure that security is considered and emphasized in all IT plans and actions

Qualifications

Core competencies required for this role:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required. Master’s degree is preferred
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of IT experience is required
  • Experience operating within an agile scrum team is required
  • Experience working with globally dispersed development teams is preferred
  • Experience implementing global process/systems is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and manage work in accordance with full system lifecycle (SDLC) from concept to production deployment is required
  • Hands-on experience supporting R&D groups is preferred
  • Hands-on disciplined project management skills are preferred
  • Product Management experience preferred
  • Hands-on experience in one or more of the following Cloud / SaaS / Mobile models is preferred
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following web Methods / IMDG / BPM is required
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: cloud native architectures / containerization / microservices / API Management is required
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: Kubernetes / Chef / Docker / AWS is required
  • Hands-on experience with responsive UI technologies (HTML5 / AngularJS) is preferred
  • Experience with Design Thinking methodologies and Human Contextual Design Research highly preferred
  • A demonstrated working knowledge of core application development principles and J&J SDLC methodology is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, BitBucket, Bamboo, Trello required
  • Working knowledge of the CFR Part 11 and Computer System Validation and its processes is preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, strong negotiating skills, and the ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with exceptional service orientation are all requirements for this position
  • Must have the ability to create context around key business drivers and strategic plan and present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
  • Fluent English
