Packaging design is an integral part of a new and fast-growing business line in our client business, where there is a need for a commercially minded Structural Designer to set a solid foundation for future growth, while managing ongoing customer engagements.

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Division Designer who has the ability of understanding the customers' business situation and needs and translate it into packaging opportunities for global omnichannel logistics chains. This position involves a wide diversity of work situations and requires the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently. The workplace is located in beautiful Riga, Latvia. Relocation is a must.

Opis stanowiska / Job description:

In this international and innovative team, you will be responsible for creating innovative packaging ideas and ensuring that structural design and prototypes are aligned with customer design intent. We expect you to be able to convert the customers' needs by using your creative expertise to develop new inspiring packaging ideas. You will be responsible for the entire packaging design process from leading workshops with customers to finalise design solutions ready for manufacturing. You will also help strengthen Packaging Solutions' process through which we serve existing and potential customer via design services.
You will work close to the Sales teams and Business Development functions but also have direct customer contact and interaction to meet customers' requirements on both technical, functional and innovative level and ensuring that the packages can be manufactured in our factories. Internally you will be closely working with our corrugated Design Studios to utilize the best practices. You will develop processes, procedures and project plans for internal and external projects across the matrix organisation.

Kogo szukamy / Profile description:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of work experience and education.
  • The workplace is located in beautiful Riga, Latvia. Relocation is a must.
  • Experience in structural package design with production experience in the corrugated industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to use structural design software Impact or Artios CAD to produce professional designs.
  • Creative and proactive problem solver with ability to work through processes to identify critical pains and needs from a customer perspective.
  • Project Management skills and knowledge as well as knowledge in project management tools.
  • Ability to quantify the impact and benefits of optimizations in packaging design along value chain and for different customers.
  • High verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and cooperate effectively across matrix organisation and with customers.
  • To succeed, you also need to be innovative, creative and have good communication skills.
  • High level of English proficiency, fluent written and spoken required.
  • You will be asked for portfolio samples of customer cases.
  • High level of presentation techniques and visualisation.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects.
  • You will be reporting to Director Design.
  • International travel is required.
